What is a coffee?

A coffee is the platform's internal unit. A meeting is priced in coffees: each host sets their own minimum for every format and length. It is not payment for their time — it shows your request is serious. What a coffee costs in cash is shown on the top-up page.

What if the host never replies?

If there's no answer within 72 hours the invitation is cancelled automatically and the coffee returns to your balance in full.

How is a meeting confirmed?

At an in-person meeting you open the QR code and a 6-digit code on the site, and the host scans or types it. The code refreshes every 60 seconds, so a screenshot sent in advance will not work. An online meeting is settled by the system: if the host joined the room the coffee goes to them; if not, it comes back to you in full.

Why do I hold the code and not the host?

The side receiving the coffee presses confirm; the code stays with the side giving it. Nothing is confirmed without you.

Can I cash a coffee out?

Accepted Answer

No. On Qahvadosh coffee never turns into money: you buy it from the platform and spend it on conversations. Coffee from a meeting opens for use after 24 h — the host spends it when they are the guest themselves. For coffee you bought but did not spend, you can request a refund at the price you paid.

When and where does the meeting happen?

You pick the time yourself from the host's schedule — no negotiating. An in-person meeting must be somewhere public (a café, an office, a coworking space); you agree on the exact place in the meeting chat, which opens 2 hours before the meeting. Phone numbers and Telegram are never exchanged.

This isn't a dating site, is it?

No. There is no gender filter, romantic invitations are banned by the terms of use, and a profile is blocked on a report.

When is a coffee refunded in full?

Accepted Answer

The host declined — straight away. No answer within 72 h — the invitation is cancelled automatically. Another guest took that slot — straight away. The host cancelled or did not show up — in full. In these cases nothing leaves your balance.

Question 9

What if I cancel the meeting myself?

Accepted Answer

More than 24 h before the meeting, the coffee comes back in full. Cancel later and 50% returns to you, the rest goes to the host whose time was already held. Once the meeting has started you cannot cancel: what remains is confirming it or filing a report.

Question 10

How much does the platform take?

Accepted Answer

Your coffee reaches the host in full — nothing extra is taken for the meeting itself. The platform earns from SELLING coffee, not from the meeting: you buy it from the platform.
